Ramón Pignatelli, ejecutor del proyecto del Canal Imperial de Aragón.

La idea era unir el Cantábrico con el Mediterráneo a través de un canal como un medio de exportación de productos, comunicación postal y tambien, como sistema de regadio.

El proyecto no llegó a ejecutarse en su totalidad.

Ramón Pignatelli, directed the construction of the Imperial Channel of Aragón.

The idea was to join the Cantabrian sea with the Mediterranean sea across a channel as a way of export of products , mail services and also as a system of irrigation.

The project was not finished.

Año 1786 "para convencimiento de los incrédulos y alivio de los caminantes".

The year 1786 "for conviction of unbelievers and relief of walkers".

Con esta fuente, Ramón Pignatelli celebró la llegada del Canal Imperial a Zaragoza. Obra en la que muchos no creian.

Whit this "fountain of the unbelievers", Ramón Pignatelli celebrated the arrival of the Imperial Channel to Zaragoza in which many had not believed.

Obra del escultor Antonio Palao. Situada en el parque que lleva su nombre. El parque fué construido a principios del s. XX para albergar la estatua. Su anterior ubicación fué la actual Plaza de Aragón.

Statue by the sculptor Antonio Palao. It is placed in the park that takes his name. This park was built in the early twentieth century to house the statue. The statue´s previous location was the current Plaza de Aragón.
